Halo 4 multiplayer specializations will change the game forever
343 Industries aims to completely change the way you play Halo by rejuvenating online battles.
Bungie did an awesome job with Halo's multiplayer over the years, and 343 is looking to evolve the formula even further. Multiplayer mini-classes can now be specialized, adding a new tactical side to the game.
"When we launch Halo 4 in November, that’s just the beginning," Spartan Ops designer David Ellis told IGN.. "Specializations are just another opportunity to make the play experience months and even years after release feel fresh."
Each specialization provides 10 levels of unlocks, including 9 cosmetic armour upgrades. Weapon skins, emblems, and visor colour can all be differentiated as you work your way up. On the tenth level, a gameplay-changing modifier is released for you to utilise.
At launch, only one specialization will be available to everyone. Playing as a Pioneer, you'll earn points quicker than other classes. Ellis was quick to underline that this cannot be exploited.
"For Fast Track, you only get extra XP for the amount of time you were using it. You can’t just turn it on right at the end of a match and think you’re going to get extra XP for everything you did in a match."
Other classes are Wetworks, Engineer, Tracker, Rogue, Stalker, Pathfinder and Operator.
