Gwent: The Witcher Card Game closed beta participants handed free copy of The Witcher 2
Here's a bit more Gwent: The Witcher Card Game news for you this morning, and if you participated in the closed beta, it should please you.
We heard rumblings yesterday that those who participated in the closed beta for Gwent: The Witcher Card Game were being handed a free copy of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings.
Sure enough, when we looked at our personal inbox this morning, buried within 2,385 unread emails, was a code for the game. A screencap of it is posted above. We really should check our email more often.
Luckily, those who received the email have until May 29 to redeem the code. So, if you haven't checked the email account you used to sign up for the closed beta in a while - do it now.
As previously reported, those who participated in the closed beta will receive Card Kegs, as well as other in-game rewards for participation. Additional information regarding participation rewards is available through the official Gwent website.
Those who played The Witcher 3 will be familiar with how Gwent works, and if you're still playing the game and are a bit confused, we're here to help. And once you get the hang of it, here's a guide on how to get every card.
And don't forget: GOG has an RPG Sale going on for the next three days. You can grab The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Game of the Year Edition for just $24.99, or if you already own the base game, Hearts of Stone will only run you $4.99, also the rather massive expansion Blood and Wine can be picked up for $9.99. Other Witcher titles are also on sale.
The Gwent open beta started yesterday May 24 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Those who are trying the beta on PlayStation 4 will be gifted with a free theme and avatars.
PC players can download the beta through GOG and console users just need to visit the respective store and download the client. An end date for the tester hasn't been provided.
