GungHo CEO would like to see the firm top Nintendo’s sales before he retires
GungHo CEO Kazuki Morishita has told Bloomberg he would like to see the company's sales top Nintendo's by the time he retires.
Speaking with the financial outlet, Morishita said he respects Nintendo and wants the consumer to think that whatever GungHo does is just as "fun".
“I want to top Nintendo’s sales by the time I retire,” he said. “I want to make people think whatever GungHo does is fun. I respect Nintendo.”
Puzzle & Dragons from the firm was the top-grossing mobile game in March, and as of May 18, has been downloaded 14 million since its February debut.
The game has generated Q1 sales of $3.4 million a day, according to Bloomberg.
GungHo plans to release the game on 3DS later this year in order to target a younger audience "in a bid to increase lifetime customers."
"We want to sell at least 1 million units just like any other titles we target," said Morishita.
