Guillemot: "Something around Assassin's" will launch in 2011

Ubi boss Yves Guillemot has confirmed that an Assassin's Creed-related project will release next year.

The exec, speaking in a call after the release of first-half financials today, refused to specifically commit to Assassin's Creed III in 2011, but did relent to admitting something to do with the IP will hit next year.

"There will be something around Assassin's," Guillemot said. "That's the only thing we can say."

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood releases tomorrow in the US and Friday in Europe.

The series is a huge seller for Ubisoft, with the original and last year's sequel having now sold more than 19 million units between them.

Brotherhood's pre-orders are confirmed as being the highest attained by an Assassin's game so far.

Ubisoft confirmed in its fiscal release today that the next instalments of two of its other major IPs, Driver and Ghost Recon, had been pushed into the next financial year, which begins in April 2011.
