Part of the magic behind the upcoming Guild Wars 2 expansion Path of Fire are the all-new Elite Specializations being added to every class in the game. All nine classes will find themselves stretched and skewed in different ways, from the Scourge specialization turning Necromancers into a support class, to Spellbreakers allowing Warriors to bring the pain to magic-using enemies.
In this exclusive developer diary from ArenaNet, the developers of the Elite Specs team highlight many of the new Elite Specializations and offer up some insight into what went into designing each spec.
The video is a part of the Guild Wars 2: Path of Fire Elite Specializations week. Alongside the developer diary today, ArenaNet will be hosting other events, culminating in the Elite specialization preview weekend from Friday, August 18 through Sunday, August 20. Players have the chance to try out every Elite Specialization in PvP and WvW before Path of Fire launches. This is the full schedule over at ArenaNet's official Guild Wars 2 site:
- August 15 – Elite specializations developer diary video and blog
- August 17 – Elite specializations on Guild Chat
- August 18 – Elite specialization preview weekend begins
The blog will go live on ArenaNet's official Guild Wars 2 site and we'll have a further Q&A with the Elite Specs team right here on USgamer later today! This is all running up to the launch of Guild Wars 2: Path of Fire for PC on September 22, 2017.
