Guild Wars 2: Flame & Frost gets second update, patch notes inside

Guild Wars 2's Flame and Frost event has received its second update, "The Gathering Storm". The update comes with new features, patch notes and more.

In a statement sent to VG247 this afternoon, publisher NC Soft confirmed many of the new changes. For starters there is a new category of co-operative Guild Missions that are geared towards teamwork, including elements like puzzles that require coordination.

There's also a new rated PvP mode that sees two teams thrown against each other in a rapid bout, new custom achievements, the ability to preview items in stores ahead of purchase, a new desktop wallpaper and more.

The Gathering Storm event has also been updated. Here's a synopsis:

"The situation worsens for the citizens of Wayfarer Foothills and Diessa Plateau. Volunteers have eased the burden, but more refugees hobble down from the Shiverpeaks. The storm there gains momentum, but the forces of good are beginning to rally.

"They’re sending their heroes to defend the land and its peoples. Someone must hold back the gathering storm."
