Guild Wars 2 final beta event adds Asura and Sylvari

Ahead of its release on August 28, ArenaNet's long-time-coming MMORPG, Guild Wars 2, will receive one final beta outing this coming weekend in which all of the five main races will be available to play.

The final Guild Wars 2 beta event will run from July 20 - 22 and unlock the previously unavailable asura and sylvari races.

During the event, players will be able to select from all five playable races of Tyria: human, norn, charr, asura, and sylvari, and will start in one of the five distinct home regions.

Asura players begin in the Metrica Province, "a vivid, exotic jungle area full of high-tech laboratories, quirky golems, and competing krewes of mad scientists."

Those opting for the sylvari will start the game in the more natural Grove, "a luminous living city nestled in the shade of the Pale Tree, the 'mother' of every member of this young race of plant humanoids."

Would-be players who have not previously signed-up for beta access can access it by pre-ordering Guild Wars 2, which confers a number of other bonuses including a three-day headstart on the official August 28 release date.
