GTA Online summer update early details: co-op, new vehicles, and more

Early details about the upcoming GTA Online summer update have been revealed online, including information on co-op, new vehicles, and more.

Details about the GTA Online summer update originally surfaced over at Rockstar Newswire, where a comprehensive breakdown of what to expect from the new update was recently published, as well as an official release date - August 11.

"Featuring everything from tense new co-op missions launched from your Super Yacht to the track-based thrills of new Open Wheel Races, to a fleet of new vehicles to acquire and much more, Summer in Los Santos has something for everyone," reads the official Rockstar update description.

According to the post, the GTA Online summer update will allow Galaxy Super Yacht owners to partake in a brand new series of missions. These missions can be completed individually or with up to three other players via online co-op, and feature "everything from deep-sea diving to high-speed hi-jinks on the high seas."

There are also new Business Battles to take part in, while the Diamond Casino and Resort will be home to a variety of Adversary Modes. On top of that, auto websites will have over a dozen new vehicles on offer, including ones that can be customized by Benny.

There will also be new "off-roaders, tunable sports cars, and a pair of new Open Wheel beauties." You'll be glad to know that there are plenty of extra races to enter with your new whip, and you can even design your own tracks around Los Santos.

Finally, the update includes some minor enhancements and bug fixes. The post concludes by saying that players can expect new details on the return of Heists later this year, which will be added as part of GTA Online's biggest ever update.

The GTA Online summer update is scheduled to launch for PC, PS4, and Xbox One on August 11.
