GTA Online class action lawsuit dismissed
A class action lawsuit brought against Rockstar parent Take-Two Interactive over Grand Theft Auto 5 has been dismissed.
Plaintiffs had argued that GTA 5's packaging was "unlawful", "unfair" and "fraudulent" because it advertised GTA Online, which did not go live until two weeks after the core game's release and had quite a rocky launch.
GamePolitics reports US District Court Judge Virginia A. Phillips disagreed, and granted Take-Two's motion to dismiss the case, noting that the package didn't claim the multiplayer would be available "immediately", and that it did warn that online components "may not be available to all users".
GTA 5 is available on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 only - but for how long? We're kind of betting on "not that long, actually".
Thanks, Joystiq.
