GT5 grants India its first ever midnight game launch

The Indian release of the next-gen iteration of Sony's biggest game franchise is to be marked by the country's first ever midnight launch.

Game4u - the retail brand of Milestone, Sony's official distributor in India - is holding a Gran Turismo 5 midnight launch event tonight in Mumbai. The game will be launched at the firm's store in Mega Mall, Oshiwara.

The store, which usually shuts down at 10.00 pm, will re-open at midnight to enable ardent GT5 fans to be the first to play the game in India.

The first customer to pick up a copy of Gran Turismo 5 at the store will get a "1st to own" certificate from Game4u.

Game4u will also be holding a GT5 competition tonight, where gamers will race for best lap times in-store; the winner walks away with a Collector's Edition of the game.

Free copies of the standard edition and Gran Turismo 5 posters up for grabs aswell.
