Griftlands is a gorgeously-animated sci-fi RPG from Klei
In Klei's latest game, everything - even morality - is negotiable.
Klei Entertainment made a name for itself by rendering unique gameplay concepts with absolutely stunning animation - ranging from Don't Starve's survival to Mark of the Ninja's tense stealth-action. Now the developer is bringing that approach to Griftlands, a sci-fi RPG that puts a new spin on moral choices.
Griftlands announcement trailer presents us with a sparsely-populated world your character must explore and gather resources to survive. While making your way from outposts to border towns, you'll be able to recruit other characters to your partner who can help you in combat. Unlike most other RPGs, you're not necessarily bound to these characters - a few sequences suggesting you can turn them in at a local prison if you're so inclined.
As stated in Griftland's Steam page, in this game "everything is negotiable: money, loyalty - even morality". As detail-light as this announcement may be, that's enough potential to attract even long-time RPG players.
Griftland will get a Steam launch in early 2018. If it's anything like Klei's other games, console releases will likely follow.
