Gran Turismo Sport is getting 10 new cars in a free update this week

Sony’s flagship racer Gran Turismo Sport will be getting 10 new cars in a free update this week.

The news comes by way of a cryptic tweet from series producer Kaz Yamauchi, who posted the silhouettes of 10 cars at the weekend.

Thankfully, helpful petrolheads and Gran Turismo fans were quick to jump in to identify the mystery vehicles.

Models like the Toyota Supra - which has appeared in every numbered Gran Turismo up to now - drew the most hype, along with cult classics like the Lamborghini Diablo, Dodge Viper and McLaren F1.

The most common predictions for cars coming to the game with this new update are as follows:

  • Toyota Supra
  • Lamborghini Diablo
  • Dodge Viper
  • McLaren F1
  • Toyota 2000GT
  • Toyota FT1
  • Jaguar XJ
  • Ford GT
  • Ferrari 330
  • And another Ferrari - opinions are pretty split between the GTO and 308.

Gran Turismo Sport was criticised when it released for requiring a constant online connection to save progress, and offering limited single-player content.

Polyphony Digital tried to remedy this however, bolstering the game’s solo campaign with a free GT League update in December.
