Gods Eater Burst details include corpse eating and customisable bullets
Gods Eater Burst - the more attentive among you may notice the "English" title has gained a significant plural - is one of those hunter-type PSP games, viewed through a veil of apparent madness. Siliconera got their hands on the localisation and dragged out a pile of new gameplay info.
The post-apocalyptic, anime-styled action game trumps its rivals by featuring quite a detailed plot. While beating up giant monsters with huge weapons made of their own flesh grafted to your very body, you'll be untying the knots of a conspiracy. Cutscenes are crafted from in-game graphics and make allowance for character customisation.
The Arc weapons have three forms - blade, sword, and mouth. Slicing fills your energy metre; shooting empties it; and taking a nibble on ane enemy allows you to enter Burst mode and perform special moves. When you win, you eat the corpse.
Characters can craft and customise ammunition depending on desired effect, and when satisfied, export the parameters to their gamer card. Other players can then import your character as an NPC for those times when you are inconveniently otherwise engaged.
God(s) Eater Burst releases on PSP through Namco Bandai in Europe and D3 in the US, both in mid March. There's a Gamestop preorder bonus of extra enemies, but no demo.
