Best Runic Attacks and Summons in God of War
The best Runic Attacks and Summons in God of War are often those that are contextual, giving the player an edge over the upcoming enemies. However, as a standard loadout and across the game generally, these are the ones we found to be the most effective without specializing.
Best Leviathan Axe Light Runic Attack
You can use the Light Runic Attack for your Leviathan Axe by pressing L1+R1 at the same time. We found that the best one was the move known as Leviathan's Wake, a powerful throw that knocks back all the enemies in front of you while also doing high damage in a straight line. You can find it in Veithurgard, as outlined in our guide here.
Best Leviathan Axe Heavy Runic Attack
This one was easy - the best heavy Runic Attack is the Glaive Storm, another Axe throw that seeks out enemies and hits them for massive damage, essentially killing every weak enemy in the area and badly hurting anything else, not to mention that you don't have to think about aiming. In a bad situation, the Glaive Storm can turn the tide of battle in an instant. You can find it by following this guide to Buri's Storeroom.
Best Blades of Chaos Light Runic Attack
The best general light attack for your Blades of Chaos is likely the Nemean Crush, a powerful shockwave that throws enemies back and leaves you ready to either escape, heal or launch some follow-up attacks. What it lacks in power it makes up for in versatility. You can get it as a reward for killing the Death Eater on the shores of the Lake of Nine, but that will only wake up after defeating the Grendel Ogres.
Best Blades of Chaos Heavy Runic Attack
This is a difficult choice, but we'd suggest the Hyperion Grapple is the best Runic Attack, especially one-on-one, allowing Kratos to throw himself at an opponent for huge stun damage and get the follow-up finisher. You can find it in a Legendary Chest while exploring Tyr's Temple.
Best Atreus Runic Summon
Most of Atreus' summons are pretty similar, with a few exceptions, but the Storm of the Elks is a powerful and dependable move, creating a lightning stag that wanders across the battlefield, doing massive damage to enemies. Stick near the stag and you'll always be safe, or keep it between you and your opponents for some ranged options. After unlocking the lightning arrows, you can find it in the River Pass, outside the Witch's home and blocked by red crystal.
