God of War 3 game director leaves Sony Santa Monica Studio
God of War 3's game director Stig Asmussen is confirmed to have left Sony Santa Monica Studio.
A statement sent to IGN simply reads, "SCEA can confirm that Stig Asmussen is no longer with Santa Monica Studio."
Asmussen moved from Midway to Sony Santa Monica after four years at the company, and then worked on all entries to the core God of War trilogy. He was rumoured to have been working on the studio's new - possibly sci-fi - title under the supervision of Cory Barlog. His departure follows a string of lay-offs at the company.
Recent reports suggest the mystery game was due to be unveiled at E3 2014 before it was cancelled.
