Goat Simulator is also hitting retail stores in the US this July

Following the announcement that a retail version of Goat Simulator will hit UK stores in May, Coffee Stain Studios has now announced a retail version for North America.

Armin Ibrisagic, one of the game's developers told Polygon that publisher Deep Silver approached the small studio, and was interested in bringing the game to retail shelves in the US.

"Steam has always been our primary source of income," he began. "So a retail version is nothing we planned or thought would bring us a lot of income, we were more motivated by the fact that a physical box with a goat's face on it is pretty funny s**t, so we decided to go for it.

"I can just imagine a mom seeing it in a store and being like 'Oh, Goat Simulator, that sounds like a fun game where you take care of farm animals, little Timmy will love this!' and the next day when they're having dinner, Timmy's like 'Mom, this food is penis shaped."

The physical copy will be available for purchase in July for $9,99 and will include the latest patch along with local multiplayer and all previously released game modes.
