Gizmondo 'not a scam': accusations are a 'slap in the face' - Tiger founder reveals all

Gizmondo, one of the biggest handheld flops in the games industry has an alleged murky backstory, but Eurogamer has posted an incredible expose on the console that includes reports of law suits, arrests and much more.

Among the details includes quotes from Tiger Telematics founder Cark Freer, who responds to claims that the console was a money-making scam.

"It's a slap in the face to anyone who spent time working on it to hear comments like that," Freer explains, "Unfortunately some of the more colourful stories, particularly about Stefan and what happened in Malibu, were true. That's fuelled the scandalous element. For those of us who put a lot of time into it, it's a sad ending."

Also, a Tiger consultant known only as Louise added, "I don't think anyone sat around and said, 'We're going to do this massive scam'. In their hearts, they were going to do this. Then they got in a bit deep financially and hit a few problems. You get to a point where you're in so deep you have to tell a few more lies, and I think that's what happened."
