Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection, Capcom Arcade Stadium coming to Switch in February
Capcom has revealed two classic releases coming our way next year.
Capcom brought the nostalgia at last night's The Game Awards show with two new projects. Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection is a reimagining of the classic side-scrolling platformer shooter.
Built in a new engine, the new Ghosts ‘n Goblins pays homage to the original and introduces some new mechanics to make things a little more forgiving for newcomers. The Page mode offers infinite lives, but you'll also be able to choose from three base difficulties. Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection comes to Nintendo Switch on February 25, 2021.
The Japanese giant also announced Capcom Arcade Stadium, a collection of 32 classic arcade game form the publisher's storied history. The bundle is coming to Switch, also in February.
Capcom is offering the Arcade Stadium in tiers, with the all-in pack being the most comprehensive (though prices have not been revealed). There are three packs to choose from, each highlighting a certain era, such as the dedicated ‘80s and 90's packs. At launch, 1943 - The Battle of Midway will be available to download for free. You'll also be able to grab the original Ghosts ‘n Goblins as an add-on for the collection.
The included games come with a number of accessibility options, too, like being able to set the game speed, and rewind when you fail. Some games also support up to local multiplayer for four players, and online leaderboards for bragging rights.
