Watch the first trailer for Ghostrunner, a Titanfall-meets-Cyberpunk slasher, right here

Ghostrunner answers the question we've all been asking: what if Titanfall had swords?

It's not too often we get a good parkour game around. With Respawn's focus centred squarely on Apex Legends and Star Wars, and Mirror's Edge in hibernation, we're desperately short on good first-person vomit sims.

Enter Ghostrunner, which dropped a trailer out of nowhere this afternoon.

It's the future, with all the grim darkness that comes with it. There's a pretty stock story about your cyber-warrior lad taking on an oppressive "Keymaster". More of that plot can be found over on the game's Steam page.

But we know what you're here for. Just look at that sliding, those jumps, the stabbing.

There's no mistaking that there's a little Respawn here. Ghostrunner's cyberpunk world is ridden with conveniently-placed platforms and flat walls for bouncing between like an adrenalise-jacked Titan pilot.

But there's also some solid Dishonored-style arcane trickery at work. Corvo's blink and Emily's grapple make an appearance. Not to mention the whole, y'know, stabbing thing.

We only know as much as you do, right now. But one thing's for sure - it's gonna be a hell of a lot of fun to just run about doing daft cyberpunk parkour.

Ghostrunner is heading to PC, PS4 and Xbox One on August 6th, 2020.
