Ghost Recon Breakpoint gets small update for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S
For you Ghosts out there joining the next generation, Breakpoint will be following you.
Ghost Recon Breakpoint is coming to the next-generation of consoles with performance enhancements and cross-progression.
Ubisoft's has been toiling away on Ghost Recon Breakpoint since its release, slowly but surely making improvements to the game. While it didn't set the world on fire at launch, the game is still seeing work and improvements. It appears the title has found its core audience and is trying to please them.
To illustrate Ubisoft's dedication to the game, the title is now seeing a next-gen upgrade too. In a blog post, Ubisoft talked about the game's latest 'Title Update' which brings the compatibility. On Xbox Series X in performance mode, the game can run at 60fps at 1080p. In resolution mode, it hits 30fps in 4k.
It's a similar story on the PS5. In performance mode, the game runs at 1080p 60fps. Resolution mode has an interesting difference though. On Sony's console, the game runs at 30fps at upscaled 4K. That distinction isn't given any more detail, but it would appear that the game is cheating the resolution a little bit.
While Xbox Series S is noted as being compatible with the patch, its performance breakdown is not outlined. Read into that difference what you will.
If you are making the jump to the next-generation too, you don't have to worry about your progression. The blog post confirms, "your profile including all purchases and inventory items will automatically be accessible on the corresponding next-gen console (PS4 with PS5 / Xbox One with Xbox Series X|S)."
Note that it doesn't seem like your progression will transfer if you're swapping console family this time around (so say the PS4 to Xbox Series X for example.)
