Get ready for a big Nintendo Switch eShop sale this Thursday

Nintendo has announced that it will be launching a 'Festive Offers 2019 eShop sale' this Thursday.

The house of Mario took to Twitter to confirm the news on its UK and European accounts, though it seems likely that a similar sale will be on the US eShop as well.

As for what games we can expect to see on offer? Well, that's all a mystery for now. Nintendo is boasting that over 700 titles will be included in the sale, though I expect that's going to be a mix of first-party mega-hits, popular indies and an assortment of random stuff you've never heard of before. You can probably expect to see 80% off the latter...

Nevertheless, while Switch eShop sales don't tend to offer the most barnstorming deals, you can usually find something decent if you delve far enough into the full library. Your best bet will be to grab a few indies or a classic port as they should see the better discounts.

If other eShop sales are any indication, major games like Breath of the Wild, Super Mario Odyssey, Astral Chain and so on could see reductions of around 33%. That's not bad, but not exactly in the realm of an impulse purchase.
