The best Genshin Impact Raiden Shogun build, Artifacts, and F2P options
The Electro Archon is a powerful addition to any party
The best Genshin Impact Raiden Shogun build can make the Electro Archon really sparkle on any team.
The Shogun is a powerful addition to any team, thanks to her Electro application and excellent energy recharge abilities that affect your entire team. She's flexible enough to excel even without her 5-star polearm, and there's a free polearm that works fantastically with her, which you can get just by fishing.
Our Genshin Impact Raiden Shogun build guide lays out the 5-star Electro Archon's best weapons, Artifacts, and F2P options and some alternative builds as well. If you're wondering what you need to level the Shogun up, check out our Genshin Impact Raiden Shogun materials list.
Genshin Impact Raiden Shogun build
Best Raiden Shogun build
Raiden Shogun's most important stat is her energy recharge, with attack, critical rate, and elemental mastery coming in as close seconds. She's an off-field support most of the time, one who can apply Electro every time a party member attacks thanks to her skill. Her burst powers up as you use more energy, so rotating your party and firing off everyone's bursts before bringing Raiden Shogun out is a smart idea.
While Raiden Shogun's burst is her primary feature, her skill also makes her one of the most useful characters for triggerind Dendro reactions and opens an alternate method of building her.
Best Raiden Shogun weapon
Raiden Shogun's best weapon is, unsurprisingly, her signature polearm, Engulfing Lightning. This one raises her attack by 24 percent or more of her energy recharge, boosts energy recharge by 30 percent after the wielder uses their burst, and has energy recharge as its secondary stat. It's everything she needs in one weapon.
The 5-star Skyward Spine is a solid alternative - and one that's easier to obtain. It also has energy recharge as its secondary stat, and it boosts the user's critical hit rate, which gives Raiden Shogun some extra utility while she's on the field.
The Catch is Raiden Shogun's best 4-star polearm. It raises the user's energy recharge and buffs their burst critical rate and overall damage. Some people recommend Staff of Homa, which is fine if you're using Raiden as an on-field DPS, but I'm not a fan of it on her. Favonius Lance, however, is an excellent choice thanks to its energy recharge stat and the high chance of getting extra energy particles from it.
Finally is the Wavebreaker's Fin polearm. You get attack for your secondary stat, and the passive skill raises the user's elemental burst damage for every point of the party's combined energy capacity. You can buff your burst damage by 40 percent this way or by 80 percent if you manage to reach max refinement.
Raiden Shogun Artifacts
Emblem of Severed Fate is the Shogun's best fit.
- 2-piece effect: Raises energy recharge by 25 percent
- 4-piece effect: Increases burst damage by 25 percent of the wearer's energy recharge.
HoYoverse overhauled Thundering Fury with the addition of Dendro in Genshin 3.0, so if you want to use Raiden Shogun as a Dendro supporter, it's a set worth considering.
- 2-piece effect: Increases Electro damage by 15 percent
- 4-piece effect: Increases Hyperbloom, Overload, Superconduct, and Electro-Charged damage by 40 percent and Aggravate and Quicken damage by 20 percent.
Genshin Impact Raiden Shogun F2P build
Raiden Shogun's F2P build is pretty easy to put together, as long as you don't mind spending some time fishing. The Catch comes from the Inazuma Fishing Association, and you can get its refinement materials there. That's an easy max-refinement weapon that costs no money.
If you hate fishing, though, you could try Prototype Starglitter. It increases the user's energy recharge and raises their attack after using an elemental skill. That's a nice little set of buffs that covers every part of Raiden Shogun's kit, though leaving her on-field as a DPS unit isn't really the best way to use her.
Finally is the Kitain Cross Spear, handy if you want to trigger elemental reactions with Raiden Shogun. It increases the wearer's elemental mastery and skill damage, and it gives them some extra energy recharge after their skill hits a foe. It doesn't actually raise the energy recharge stat but if you're struggling to meet Raiden Shogun's high energy cost, it's still helpful.
