GDC 2012: Sid Meier, Inafune, Riot Games talks added to schedule

GDC organizers have announced talks from Sid Meier, Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune, and Riot Games on League of Legends.

Sid Meier will be hosted a game design track called "Interesting Decisions" which will discuss how developers make interesting gameplay decisions and how to those "uninteresting decisions."

Mega Man co-creator and ex-Capcom man Keiji Inafune will discuss "The Future of Japanese Games" at the conference. In his talk, he he will touch upon how western developers are "dominating the market" and how the Japanese game industry is "facing an unprecedented crisis" but highlighting current trends and prevailing ideas in game development, while also looking back to what developers can learn from the past.

Riot Games lead producer Travis George will host a production track titled "Evolving the MOBA Genre - The League of Legends: Dominion Postmortem." In it, George will examine Dominion's production process from beginning to end and how the new mode built upon League of Legends's existing gameplay to introduce fundamental ideas to the established multiplayer online battle arena genre.
