GDC 2012: Audio sessions announced for Bastion, Crysis 2, others

GDC organizers have announced Audio Track sessions from Supergiant's Darren Krorb, Crytek's Thomas Wollenzin, and the Game Audio Network Guild.

The Audio track "Build That Wall: Creating the Audio for Bastion" from Supergiant Games' audio director, Darren Korb, will discuss how he coordinated the game's music and vocal tracks on a limited budget.

With "Crysis of Audio II," Crytek's R&D audio engineer Thomas Wollenzin and co-audio director Florian Fuesslin provide an inside look into the technology and implementation of Crysis 2's audio.

Game Audio Network Guild will once again be hosting the Demo Derby event, which provides audio professionals with feedback from developers such as Valve, Loot Drop, Sony, and others.

Other Audio track session at GDC 2012 include talks and demonstrations from Bungie on call forth emotions through music, Obsidian on designing interactive music in Fallout: New Vegas, Insomniac Games on the lessons sound engineers can glean from Disneyland, and Ubisoft on multi-language voice-overs.
