Game Expo Scotland 2014 announces Scottish Games Network partnership
Game Expo Scotland is the new consumer show coming to Edinburgh on October 4-5, 2014. The event organisers have just announced a partnership with the country's official trade body Scottish Games Network.
In a press release sent to VG247 today, organisers Magdala Media announced its partnership with Scottish Games Network, which will see the Scottish industry represented as best as possible during the show.
Magdala Media founder and Game Expo Scotland 2014 organiser Rowan Mackie said in a statement, “Having Scottish Games Network on board for next year’s Games Expo Scotland is excellent for both the Scottish video games community, but also for the abundance of talent in the region. Thanks to Scottish Games Network, GES 2014 can really now represent what makes the Scottish games industry great.”
Scottish Games Network founder and President, Brian Baglow added, "The Scottish Games Network is delighted to welcome a brand new dedicated games event to Edinburgh. Video gaming is a huge business in Scotland, with over a hundred studios creating games, from the incredible international success of Rockstar North, creating GTA V, to the many indie studios working on innovative new games for smartphones, tablets and the latest consoles.
"Yet many people don't realise the country's legacy or pioneering work in video games. Game Expo Scotland offers an incredible new opportunity for the players, gamers and industry to come together and enjoy the very best in gaming, from the latest console blockbusters, to the hottest indie games. It's going to be awesome...”
The showcase will feature games and studios from beyond Scotland's borders. VG247 is also an event media partner, and will be brining you updates as they come. Stay tuned.
