Blimey. Gamer TV's announced that it's shutting down after five years of broadcasting. In a statement, the company said:

"After being on air continuously since December 2002, Gamer TV, Europe’s most respected games television series, has ended its run for the foreseeable future.

"IMG who own the rights to the Gamer TV brand have decided that it no longer forms part of their future plans, despite the series performing well on Bravo in the UK and on other channels around the world."

Sorry about that, chaps. Best of luck.

Patrick Garratt is a games media legend - and not just by reputation. He was named as such in the UK's 'Games Media Awards', the equivalent of a lifetime achievement award. After garnering experience on countless gaming magazines, he joined Eurogamer and later split from that brand to create VG247, putting the site on the map with fast, 24-hour a day coverage, and assembling the site's earliest editorial teams. He retired from VG247, and the games industry, in 2017.
