Gameloft to open New Orleans studio, promises "exciting endeavors"
Simple equation - offer generous tax credits to games developers, observe influx of companies opening studios in your area. This is suspected to be the reason behind mobile publisher Gameloft posting thirteen full-time positions on a New Orleans job board.
When contacted by Joystiq, the company responded:
"Gameloft is currently recruiting in New Orleans for a variety of game development positions. We'll have more information about our exciting endeavors in New Orleans soon."
Staffing sites say that Gameloft is only the tip of the iceberg, as other games developers and publishers make the move to Louisiana. These new companies will join EA's North American QA presence, which is already looking to expand its Louisiana State University location.
Could this be the States making an effort to stop games developers from heading north to Canada?
