Game of Thrones RPG trailer, details finally out
We've heard lots of rumors, but very little concrete information about the Game of Thrones RPG until today. Cyanide studios released some choice tidbits of information along with a new trailer showing the game in action. It was hardly the trailer we were hoping for, but it'll do for now. It's over two minutes long, but includes next to no gameplay footage. And the footage that does come from in-game play is just a character running in a perfectly straight line in a few different settings. For a game that's due out in "early 2012" that's a bit concerning.
However, there are some encouraging details for Song of Ice and Fire fans. To begin with, the game's story is being developed "under the supervision" of George R.R. Martin. We don't yet know what that actually means, but at least he's being involved in the process.
The game is also being developed on Unreal Engine 3, and should be around 30 hours long. The storyline will follow Mors, a Night's Watchmen, and Alester a Red Priest and will take players around Westeros to famous locales to meet equally famous characters. The game is being developed for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.
