Simon Parkin's been announced as Gamasutra's new European editor today, with the site now claiming 1 million UU per month.

Parkin will join the CMP site as the fourth "core" team member alongside Americans Leigh Alexander, Kris Graft and Christian Nutt.

Simon's a long-term Edge magazine and Eurogamer writer, who told us this morning that he'll still be reviewing for Eurogamer once a week.

Gama, "the leading video game art and business site," also said in the press release today that it's now breached the 1 million UU per month mark, judged by internal metrics.

Patrick Garratt is a games media legend - and not just by reputation. He was named as such in the UK's 'Games Media Awards', the equivalent of a lifetime achievement award. After garnering experience on countless gaming magazines, he joined Eurogamer and later split from that brand to create VG247, putting the site on the map with fast, 24-hour a day coverage, and assembling the site's earliest editorial teams. He retired from VG247, and the games industry, in 2017.
