G4 staying as is for time being, Style Network to get Esquire rebranding instead - report

G4 will stay the way it is on cable for a while, and will not be re-branded as the Esquire Network as planned earlier this year after all.

The news comes according to a report via The Hollywood Reporter.

According to the site, NBC Universal will be rebranding the underperforming Style Network with Esquire instead.

Back in February of this year, it was reported that teh shift was to occur in April 2013 after in 2012 NBC Universal struck a deal with Hearst Magazines to rebrand G4 after the men’s magazine Esquire with the new focus being on cars, politics, travel, fashion and cooking.

G4 staples Attack of the Show and X-Play were cancelled back in October, and stopped airing at the end of 2012.

Thanks, Shack.
