Frostpoint VR: Proving Grounds closed beta kicks off on Steam next week

Frostpoint VR: Proving Grounds will go into closed beta next week on Steam.

Post-apocalyptic virtual reality PvP game Frostpoint VR: Proving Grounds from inXile Entertainment and Thirdverse Inc. will have a closed beta test.

It kicks off on August 24 and ends September 4.

For this test, folks will be accepted in waves throughout the closed beta period. You can apply for entry through this request form.

When the open beta for Frostpoint VR: Proving Grounds launches later this year, those who participate and meet specific playtime requirements will be provided with a free copy of the game upon release.

The team-based multiplayer shooter pits two sides against each other in PvP game modes. It is set in a dilapidated military training base in Antarctica and you will have to face not only other players but biomechanical creatures.

You can also expect over a dozen weapons such as rifles, pistols, and grenades. There will be health kits, armor upgrades, turrets, and tracking upgrades available to players.

The game is planned for global release in ten languages in 2020 on Oculus Rift, HTC Vive VR, and Valve Index headsets.
