Frontier to release its iOS title Coaster Crazy Deluxe for Wii U

Frontier Developments has announced Coaster Crazy Deluxe for Wii U, which is being developed in parallel across its UK and Canadian studios with Elite: Dangerous.

Coaster Crazy Deluxe is a Wii U port of the iOS game the firm released last year, and will be out in a couple of weeks.

Frontier boss David Braben said it was developed by a team separate from the one working on Elite: Dangerous.

“People think of a company just making one game at a time,” he told Eurogamer. “But look at the number of different Kinectimals games and the Disneyland game we did. The fact we do lots of games in parallel shouldn't upset people. It's actually the opposite. It's what made the ability to do Elite possible, because we have such mature tools that are so flexible.

“The teams for each of these games is different. We have had a wide range of output and we will continue to have. If anything it de-risks it, because it gives us extra resource we can apply to different things It's a different group of people."

In Coaster Crazy Deluxe, players will build coasters using a stylus or the GamePad's buttons and sticks. Users can turn the GamePad to move the in-game view and shake it to make your virtual riders - called Crazies - vomit.

The game will also contain online leaderboards. A price and release date are to be announced soon.
