The brand new Siphon Solo LTM drops in Fortnite today with no healing items whatsoever
On the second day of 14 Days of Fortnite, Epic gave to me, a Siphon Solo victory.
Update: Epic may have done away with healing items for the Siphon Solo LTM, but you can still buy them from vending machines on the map, as pointed out by players on Reddit.
Original story:
14 Days of Fortnite kicked off yesterday, starting the in-game holiday celebrations with new Challenges and festive rewards. Day 2 is now upon us, and yesterday's Unvaulted Mode has been replaced with a new LTM called Siphon Solo. In-line with the holiday spirit of sharing, it looks like players will have to kill opponents to regenerate their own health and shields.
Epic revealed the LTM in a tweet today, and according to the datamined description dug out by Redditor Spedicey1, players won't be able to heal themselves via normal means.
"All the healing items have been removed in this mode. The only way to gain health or shields is to eliminate your opponents," reads the description in the game's files. The image in the tweet seems to show this in action. The finer details are below:
- Their loss is your gain
- Eliminating opponents will give you health if you are hurt, or shields if you are not
- No healing items
- Don't bother searching for bandages or shield pots - eliminations are the only way to gain health
- Guns...lots of guns
- No healing items means lots of room in your inventory for weapons
The reward for today's 14 Days of Fortnite Challenge hasn't been confirmed yet, but 13 of them have already been discovered by dataminers along with the entire list of LTMs.
Epic also announced Fortnite: Retail Row this week; an official merch store selling hoodies, t-shirts, and a real-life Durrr Burger onesie. So if you're looking for Fortnite-themed goodies for the fans in your life, check it out.
