Fortnite temporarily loses improvements from latest patch, and Playground has been re-enabled

Fornite's recent editing improvements will be rolled out in the next patch instead.

Update v7.20 saw an improved functionality for editing structures in the game, making for a "smoother experience," but Epic has announced that this it has had to "revert that improved functionality" because of unforeseen issues following the patch.

The specific lines from the patch notes are as follows:

  • Editing a structure will now begin without waiting for a response from the server. This should cut down on ghost shots before editing and make it a smoother experience.
  • Confirming the edit will still require sending data to the server and be impacted by high ping or poor server performance.

Epic explained that "due to an issue that was preventing players from being able to shoot after jumping from the Battle Bus," the changes have been rolled back for now.

Instead, the improvements will make their return in patch v7.30.

One of the biggest features of v7.20 was the reintroduction of the Glider Redeploy function, along with the addition of the Scoped Revolver to Battle Royale.

The most recent Fortnite news is the kicking off of the new Ice Storm event, that frosted the entire map and temporarily disabled Playground and LTMs.

Epic has since confirmed that the following LTMs have been re-enabled:

  • Playground
  • Team Rumble Squads
  • One Shot Squads
