Fortnite could be getting a spectator mode that's being tested out next month
It looks like Fortnite is getting a spectator mode that's getting tested in a private event next month.
YouTuber BlueNightEdgar (via Fortnite Insider) claims to have received an email from Epic Games inviting them to a private testing session in February that will have the invitees "test unreleased spectating features and tools that will be used in future events."
The imminent arrival of a spectator mode was also flagged by players who reported a bug in the menu that gave them a "join as player" option.
Fortnite dataminer Lucas7yoshi did some digging and reported that the button appears to be related to a spectator mode.
The private testing session will reportedly be held in Los Angeles, with participants getting free V-bucks for their trouble. The event will be held from February 4 - February 12.
There's been no official word from Epic on the spectator mode, and whether it will roll out as a new feature, or if it will be limited to events only.
