Fortnite Battle Royale gets Dota 2-style Battle Pass, loads of new items
The Fortnite Battle Royale Season 2 has begun, and with it, the introduction of the Battle Pass.
The concept of Fortnite Battle Royale's Battle Pass should be familiar to Dota 2 players. That's because, much like Dota 2's, Fortnite's Battle Pass offers tiered unlocks that can be earned by playing, or paying to gain access to higher tiers.
It's not as deep as Dota 2's, but it's definitely borrowing from it. The new season, which is live now until February 20, brings a host of cosmetic items for all. The Battle Pass, available for 950 V-Bucks, grants you some bonus items upon purchase, and around 65 more when you fully level it up.
The more you play, the higher your Battle Pass level gets and the more rewards you unlock. Epic says it takes 75-150 hours to fully level it up. Or, you can spend some V-Bucks and speed things up. All items are cosmetic, of course.
V-Bucks can be bought with real money through the in-game store. Once again, Season 2 and the accompanying Battle Pass will be available until February 20.
