For the King is free on the Epic Games Store, Amnesia: The Dark Descent free next week
For the King is currently free for the next week on the Epic Games Store.
Epic Games Store users can download and keep the latest free game, For the King, now until April 30.
For the King, blends turn-based combat, and roguelike elements. Each playthrough is different, and it features procedural maps, quests, and events.
It can be played in single-player or online co-op. It also features all released expansion content including Dungeon Crawl, Frozen Expanse Adventure, Gold Rush Un-Cooperative Mode, Into The Deep, and more.
Next week, Frictional Games' first-person survival horror title Amnesia: The Dark Descent will be free alongside the action-adventure RPG Crashlands.
Amnesia: The Dark Descent, released in 2010, puts you in the shoes of Daniel who has awakened in a desolate castle. He barely remembers anything about his past, and you will "take part" in his memories as you explore various pathways in the castle. Danger lurks around the corners, and the only way to defend yourself is by running, hiding, or by using your wits. You will have to determine if there really is a hidden danger lurking in the castle, or whether it's just your mind playing tricks on you.
In Crashlands, you play as a galactic trucker who is stranded on an alien planet. As you try to retrieve packages from your latest shipment, you will become embroiled in a "nefarious plot of world domination," which you will need to have your wits about you to overcome.
You will also learn recipes, unlock over 500 craftable items, make friends, enjoy an RPG-style progression system, uncover secrets, and come into contact with deadly bosses. You will also "tame everything", and build a home for yourself in order to thrive on the planet.
Last week's free games were Just Cause 4 and Wheels of Aurelia.
