For Honor producer Stephane Cardin has confirmed that For Honor's split-screen is no more.

The news came in an in-house interview, during which Cardin said, "we decided this week to cut the split-screen. It was a feature that we loved, but when we looked at what needs to be done to support online co-op, for us it was critical to make the decision now so we can polish all the features at the triple A level and make sure that we have the most amazing experience."

The comments in the interview reference online co-op only, but Polygon has confirmed with Ubisoft that the feature has been dropped altogether.

"The For Honor team made the difficult decision to cut split-screen co-op in order to deliver the best experience at launch," reads Ubisoft's statement. "For Honor fans looking to play with friends will still have the option to play online co-op for the campaign and multiplayer modes."

Has this scuppered your plans or have you made sure to get yourself two TVs so that you can have one big telly to yourself without having to share the screen?
