Flying Hamster 2 takes to Kickstarter, Castlevania composer on board

Flying Hamster 2 could be a thing, assumign the Internet coughs up $150,000 to help The Game Atelier make it happen.

The Sunflowers developer has launched a Kickstarter to fund the side-scrolling RPG, which marks the return of titular rodent Newton. The Game Atelier describes it as filling the hole left by a lack of decent spiritual successor to Wonder Boy in Monster Land.

Excitingly, celebrated composer Michiru Yamane has signed on to the project; her credits include Skullgirls, Otomedius Excellent, several Castlevania games, Suikoden IV and many more. A second mysterious composer is to be revealed soon.

If the Kickstarter is successful, Flying Hamster 2 would arrive in mid-2015 on PC in both Steam and DRM-free forms, but the developer has included stretch goals for 3DS, PS4, Vita, Wii U and Xbox One. There are plenty of assets to view and rewards to peruse, and the campaign has 26 days remaining,

The 2010 original was downloaded over 1.7 million times on iOS, PSP and Vita.
