Fixed-time investigation game The Occupation gets a release date
The Occupation is an investigative adventure game where you have a fixed time limit to find the evidence you need.
When we last saw White Paper Games it had released Ether One, an impressively unique exploration game that explored dementia and lost memories. Now the developer has teamed up with Humble Bundle to release The Occupation, an investigative adventure game with a clock-tick twist. And what's more, it will arrive in a few months.
The Occupation is set in 1987 North West England, after a terrorist act triggers laws that will erode civil liberties. You play as a journalist trying to uncover the truth behind the explosion, which involves collecting evidence and conducting interviews.
The twist is players have a limited amount of time to gather evidence. The non-linear game world unfolds in real-time, with NPCs following their own routines and potentially destroying - or revealing - key evidence along the way. Under these conditions, you can conduct an investigation however you'd like. If a cautious and methodical approach isn't working, you could also sneak into restricted areas and steal what you need.
The Occupation launches for PC on October 9, 2018.
