First batch of Realm Royale console beta codes sent out to Xbox One and PS4 players
Class-based competitive shooter Realm Royale is coming to console, and the first round of closed beta invites were sent out yesterday, August 1, with more on the way soon.
This first batch of codes is understood to be a small server test group, with just a few thousand lucky players invited.
Josh Nash, Hi-Rez Studios community manager, took to the Realm Royale official site to give an update on progress, saying:
“We appreciate the flood of interest in Realm Royale on console. For now, our closed testing audience for console is staying quite small while we refine some core mechanics. We hope to expand the size of the closed testing soon to a much larger audience.
“We’ll be making further technical improvements to the game and doing more testing as those changes are implemented. We want to make sure our console players get the best possible experience with Realm Royale.
“Thank you for your understanding and continued support. We’ll release more information about Console Closed Beta at a later date.”
The same statement was also released on Twitter:
You can still get in on the Realm Royale beta test if you’re interested via the game’s site.
If you’ve not got a code by now though, you’ll have to wait for at least the second batch to go out.
That means you’ll have to get your Realm Royale fix on PC, where our beginner’s guide can show you the ropes.
While on console you’ll have to turn to one of the established battle royales like Fortnite - which drops its Season 5 Week 4 challenges later today.
