Voice actor Alan Tudyk has revealed his reasons for quitting Uncharted 4, saying "weird" changes turned him off the game.

Speaking to IGN, Tudyk said he "didn't like" alterations to the project.

It's no secret that Uncharted 4: A Thief's End had gone through major changes in story and structure following the departure of former lead Amy Hennig.

"I worked on Uncharted, the one that has yet to come out - I was doing a role on that. Really, I hadn't seen [Nolan] since he and I had recorded years before," he told the site.

"I liked it... they... ummm... they fired... ummm... [lets out a massive sigh] I left, I quit! [laughs] So, I didn't like it. I mean, I left because they decided to go a different way with it and so when they did that, when they changed leadership, it made my contract null and void and I was able to take that opportunity to walk away which was great because I got the experience of doing it, I made some friends - not with Naughty Dog - but I made some friends with the people that left."

Tudyk added that he - along with fellow actor Todd Stashwick, who was fired from the project - thought the changes that were being made by Naughty Dog were "weird".

The new direction was implemented as the result of The Last of Us directors Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley taking over from Hennig.

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is out in March, 2016 on PS4.
