Firefall dev CEO apologises for open beta woes

Red 5 Studios boss Mark Kern has issued an apology for Firefall's open beta launch woes in July, and detailed improvements implemented in the interim.

In an email to registered users, Kern said the open test was supposed to stress the servers, and was so successful that it did just that.

The developer takes full responsibility for the launch, which was marred by connection issues, incomplete tutorials, and blocked features.

In the past few weeks, Red 5 has raiser server load capacity in all regions and resolved a number of login issues; resolved many issues with traveling to new zones; added two new instances; overhauled printers and garages to improve performance and include tutorials; fixed calldown menus; repaired dropships; and fixed tutorials.

"Please accept our apologies for the rocky start, and while we are not past all of it yet, things have improved tremendously and we are working on resolving the remaining issues," Kern said.

"Meanwhile, please join us for a series of new content and features that are rolling out regularly. Its been an incredible experience and only made possible by you, the community. Thank you and see you in Firefall."
