Final Fantasy XIV Online to focus on large-party play

Final Fantasy XIV director Naoki Yoshida has said he wants to shift the game's focus towads large-party content, "as quickly as possible".

"We're still on the fence a bit about balancing the degree of difficulty for fifteen-member parties," Yoshida said in his third producer's letter since he took over the helm of FFXIV Online.

"But I personally am of the opinion that everyone playing together is what makes the game fun. And so that is the direction in which I would like to take the game, and take it as quickly as possible."

Smaller parties won't be neglected, as Yoshida promises ongoing balancing for eight and four-member party content, while rewards for larger parties will be increased.

Yoshida's open approach to addressing Final Fantasy XIV's many perceived woes resulted in his posting the latest version of a massive planned updates chart, and inviting players to participate in a second poll to determine future priorities.

Thanks, Massively.
