Final Fantasy Type-0 to feature XP system, is 60 percent done
Final Fantasy Type-0 has had its battle system detailed just a little bit in an interview with Famitsu, where it's confirmed that the game will feature an XP system.
According to director Hajime Tabata and producer Yoshinori Kitase, the system will be used to level up characters in the game, who can also get stronger via accessories and abilities.
The magic system for Type-0 is also a bit different than most FF titles, with more powerful spells being used by holding the button down. An example given was Fire, where you can achieve more powerful spells like Fira or Firaga if the button's held down.
Certain aspects of a spell can also be changed, such as the amount of time it takes to cast more powerful spells as well as the speed and power itself.
Tabata also said that magic is used in Type-0 like guns. You're free to fire away like you would with a gun.
He further explained why the game went with two UMD discs instead of one, saying that if the development team had gone with one, the dev team would have to have gotten rid of stuff it wanted to do.
So much so, it's aiming to go for quality that lives up to the HD systems, going as far as adding in movies which were event scenes.
Tabata concluded that the game was 60 percent done.
Final Fantasy Type-0 releases this summer for PSP in Japan. No western release has been confirmed yet by Square Enix. Watch the newest trailer for it here.
