Final Fantasy 15: Monster of the Deep is out now, and this launch trailer shows just how intense it is
Final Fantasy 15's VR spin-off, Monster of the Deep, is out now, so grab your fishing rods and slip on your VR headset.
Monster of the Deep is a fishing adventure, which is fairly far removed from what Final Fantasy 15 was about, but, hey - fishing in games is usually pretty fun. This being Final Fantasy, it looks like there's also a pretty full-on plot and some giant monsters to watch tower over you.
This mode is exclusive, for now, to the PS4 version of Final Fantasy 15 - whether it eventually makes it to the PC release remains to be seen.
Curiously enough the trailer doesn't go into much detail about the actual mechanics of fishing here, beyond casting out your line. It's not even really clear if catching a bunch of fish is really the objective, or whether there's skill involved, or what. It looks pretty nice, though, and it seems like you're get to experience a VR fish dinner with the lads. What more could you want from Final Fantasy 15 than that, really?
This is the latest in a fairly long string of DLC releases for Final Fantasy 15, which also just got a Comrades multiplayer update.
We haven't had a chance to test this yet - let us know in the comments below if you have.
