Final Fantasy 14 gets a new set of trophies when it arrives on PS5 tomorrow

Trophy hunters rejoice! Final Fantasy 14 will be getting a wholly new set of trophies when the PS5 version launches into open beta later this week.

Final Fantasy 14 will go into open beta on PS5 April 13 alongside the release of Patch 5.5, and it looks like Square Enix is bringing an additional bonus to anyone that wants to play the game on Sony's latest hardware, too: a brand-new trophy list.

As per trophy lists gathered by Exophase and TrueTrophies, the game is set to receive a massive 91 achievable awards on PS5 for anyone eager to unlock them. You'll get Bronze trophies for clearing the narrative beats of the game, and Silver trophies await anyone leveling classes to particular milestones.

The base game will give you 53 trophies (including a Platinum if you can complete everything), whilst the three DLC packs offer 38 between them.

If you're coming from PS4, then, and have already achieved the wealth of trophies there, don't expect the same ones to pop here – there's quite a difference between the two lists.

It's a good time to re-enter the world of Eorza if you're a lapsed player, though: there's a big new update coming later this year, and it stands to reason that you'll be able to earn more trophies when they're added in Fall 2021, too.

Final Fantasy 14: Endwalker features the climax of Hydaelyn and Zodiark story and arrives later this year for Mac, PC, PS4, and PS5.

In the expansion, the Warriors of Light (that's you!) will encounter a great calamity as they travel to the far reaches of Hydaelyn and to the moon. This will bring the story-arc started with A Realm Reborn to a conclusion... but Endwalker sets the stage for new adventures. If you are interested in the expansion, you should check out our interview with FF14 producer and director Naoki Yoshida.
