FIFA Interactive World Cup 2012 kicks off in Australia - register now

Australia will once more play host to one of only 11 qualifying tournaments in the annual FIFA Interactive World Cup.

Qualifiers will be held at EB Games Stores around the country at 6:00 PM on March 22, with three in New South Wales, two in Queensland, and one each in South Australia, Victoria and Western Australia.

Those who pass through the qualifiers will be flown to Sydney on April 4 for a final to determine Australia's champion.

The champion will net a seed in the international grand final, which carries a $20,000 prize as well as a gala dinner with people I assume are actual soccer players: David Beckham, Wayne Rooney, Ricardo Kaka, Cristiano Ronaldo, Fernando Torres, Lionel Messi and Tim Cahill among them.

For more information and to register your interest, head over to the tournament's website. Last year's Interactive World Cup was strongly contested, with players from other leagues flying into Australia to try and nab a position in the final - so get in quick.
