Each year EA refreshes the FIFA 18 player ratings with its FIFA 18 Upgrades. This year is no different, with hundreds of players getting boosts across the game. In this guide to FIFA 18 upgrades we list all the new player ratings and will update as and when EA publishes new updates. These are the new best players in FIFA 18. Current FIFA 18 winter upgrades include players from the Premier League and Serie A.

FIFA 18 Upgrades

EA has looked at the performances of players across all supported leagues in the game and issued upgrades to those who it believes are playing at a level higher than they were at the start of the season. In this guide we'll list the FIFA 18 upgrades, split into the major leagues.

While previous years saw players being downgraded alongside numerous player upgrades, this hasn't happened with FIFA 18's refresh. So, no matter how terrible a player has been in the 2017/2018 season, they will remain on the rating they started the season on.

What Cards are Affected by FIFA 18 Upgrades?

If you're hoping that your current crop of FIFA 18 FUT cards will receive upgrades with the FIFA 18 upgrades, sadly that won't happen. The upgraded player ratings will only apply to newly released player cards and to certain in-form cards. If a new player rating is higher than the rating on your in-form card, that in-form will be upgraded.

The one area in which old player cards will benefit is in upgrades made to Skill Move and Weak Foot stats. All versions of a card will get these upgrades, which is nice.

FIFA 18 Upgrades - Premier League Players

The FIFA 18 upgrades for Premier League players have resulted in three players reaching a rating of 91: De Gea, Hazard, and De Bruyne. Tottenham's Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen both reach a rating of 88.
