FF15 wasn't at E3, but here's a new Final Fantasy game to tide you over
Final Fantasy Explorers is a multiplayer action RPG for 3DS quietly announced in Japan under cover of E3 2014.
The new game was revealed in Jump magazine, as translated from Japanese reports by Siliconera.
Players search for crystals and battle summon monsters, with the end goal of defeating them all. Characters can take on various jobs, including black mage, white mage, knight and monk. These jobs seem to fulfil the traditional roles seen in other Final Fantasy games. Parties consist of up to four players.
Other details from the reveal include a large variety of weapons and the appearance of Ifrit.
No release date or window was provided, and we have no assets or word of a western release. But if Theatrhythm can make the jump, surely this can.
We're not sure why Square Enix has such a modest show this year, leaving Kingdom Hearts 3 and Final Fantasy 15 at home. It brought a new Final Fantasy 14 patch, Nosgoth and both new Tomb Raider games to E3 2014, but seems to have been pretty quiet beyond that. We're pretty excited about Final Fantasy Type-0 making it over, though.
